My Story

Like many web developers, Myspace introduced me to a world of coding; a way to express myself and create amazing layouts. I was thirteen years old when I began tinkering with HTML, and I quickly fell in love. While others were concerned with how many Myspace friends they had, I was creating and manipulating code to create custom layouts for them that expressed who they were.

In 2006, as a freshman in high school, I explored different technical paths and an exploratory called Electronics captured my attention. It covered all sorts of topics related to technology, but the coolest was creating my own website in HTML. In 2010, I competed in the SkillsUSA competition for web design, winning gold medals locally and state-wide before competing nationally.

I spent the next decade of my life trying to find myself and figure out what my dream job was even though it had been right in front of me this whole time. My brother-in-law told me about his new job as a web developer and it inspired me to create a redesign of the website of the restaurant I was managing. It was terrible, but I loved it. Ever since then, I have been scouring the Internet learning design principles, psychology, and ways to improve my code.
